CASICA is a gorgeous two-story multi-purpose space converted from an old lumber warehouse. The location is in Shinkiba, which may look a bit far out on the map, but is actually only a 20-minute metro ride from Ginza. For those also interested in TeamLAB Planets & Borderless, these two exhibitions are close to CASICA, so it’s a good idea to do them on the same day.
2017 年底開幕的 CASICA 是個時空交錯的絕美空間。建築原本是木材倉庫，廢棄一段時日後才改建爲全新的複合式空間。地點位于稍微有點偏的 “新木場”，不過從銀座搭地鐵過來大概也就20幾分鍾，出站後步行5分鍾左右就可以抵達。（注：CASICA 離 TeamLAB 的兩個展覽 – Planets 和 Borderless – 都不遠，可以同一天前往。）
The renovated space is operated by Tanoshinal Inc., a Japanese film production company, with the concept of “visualizing one’s sense and values” and the aim to create an easy encounter with old and new, Japanese and foreign, without borders. (“Visualization” in Japanese is かしか / CASICA.)
改造後的新空間由影像制作公司 “株式會社タノシナル” 營運，概念是 “將生活過的時間與空間可視化”。因爲日文中 “可視化” 的發音唸做 “かしか（CASICA）”，于是項目就以這個名字開啓了。
Shinkiba used to be an area housing lumber companies, and to maintain this unique charm, parts of the new space is still allocated for woodworkers to work on the recycling and repurposing of old wood.
建物內處處可見以前留下的痕跡，深呼吸彷彿還能嗅到過去作爲銘木倉庫的淡雅木香。爲了保留這一區域的特質，倉庫後方也特地規劃了給職人們修復和創作的工作室，推廣木質商品再生的企劃。
The first floor consists of a cafe, a select shop of furniture and knickknacks, and a gallery, while the second floor houses photography studio, a recording studio, and an office space.
兩層樓的倉庫空間，一樓有咖啡、簡餐、家具、選品、藝廊，走上二樓則可以看見攝影工作室、錄音室和辦公室。
Merchandise at CASICA are selected from around in world, including many exceptional local Japanese brands, such as washi paper brand tosawashi from Kochi Prefecture, azumaya, R&D.M.Co-, etc.
店裏的選品來自世界各國，其中當然包括了不少日本本土的品牌，比如高知活版印刷工房 “土佐和紙”、道具品牌 “東屋”、山梨縣亞麻製 “R&D.M.Co-”，也有櫻木盒作家井藤昌志、陶作家伊藤環、尾形篤等名家作品。新舊混搭，讓空間氛圍非常迷人。
The cafe is operated by Nanpu Shokudo, an eatery that uses organic ingredients to make medicinal, ayuverdic cuisine. Echoing this style of cooking, the cafe counter is built using ancient medicine cabinets (very pretty, I’d like one at home please).
Cafe 的部分由提倡善待環境與身體的 “南風食堂” 三原寬子女士主理，使用自然農法的食材做著以藥膳、阿育吠陀爲本的料理。櫃台以古老漢方藥材店鋪爲設計，好看極了。
A light and healthy lunch set goes for 1200 yen.

Just beside the cafe, there’s an area dedicated to green plants, a pleasure to walk about before or after lunch.
Cafe 旁還有特地規劃出來的綠植區。飯前或飯後逛一逛，都令人心情舒暢。
