It’s been a few months since I last visited Pâtisserie Ciel, and what lured me back this time was their new cherry blossom-flavored angel cake. When I entered the shop, its tranquil atmosphere immediately reminded me of how lovely it is to spend a few moments here with a fluffy light angel cake and a pot of freshly brewed hot tea…
Here it is, the cherry blossom angel cake (€12 with tea), with bits of griotte cherries nestled inside the cream.
At the waiter’s recommendation, I paired it with cherry blossom tea. The cherry blossom flavor in both the cake and the tea is quite subtle, so there wasn’t any problem with this pairing being too strong, in case you were wondering.
My tea date’s orange blossom angel cake, which she paired with a cup of yuzu tea.
Pretty take-out boxes, still in love with these.
Like last time, the cakes at Pâtisserie Ciel didn’t blow me away, but they were very pleasant especially when enjoyed in the charming boutique space. A lovely spot to come back to.
