Buvette Gastrothèque, originally opened in New York based on the concept of a Parisian wine bar, has been brought back to the City of Lights itself. Within the past two months I have already visited this cozy little place three times, in love with its bustling vibe, delicious (and affordable) food, friendly service, and the fact that it’s open 7 days a week.

The food menu is a succinct one-pager, while its drinks counterpart is a hefty booklet. On the food side, the list is divided into “sur le pouce” (on the go), vegetables, fish, meats, eggs, waffles, croque sandwiches, charcuterie, and cheeses. On the drinks side, there are beers, wines, cocktails, cocktails, and cocktails.

As it was Sunday brunch time, we filled out table with sunny items like museli with greek yogurt, french toasts, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, waffle sandwich, and orange juice served in a cute little jar.

French Toast (€7), served warm and fluffy in a puddle of cognac cream sauce.

Museli (€5) with Greek yogurt and seasonal fruits (raspberries, blueberries, and red currants on the day of our visit).

A golden heap of French scrambled eggs (€10) with smoked salmon, crème fraîche, capers, all on a piece of country bread. Other variations include ham with parmesan, and tomato confit with goat cheese.

Hot chocolate (€5), perfect sweetness and richness. I could see grains of vanilla seeds, which undoubtedly enhanced the flavor.

Waffle sandwich (€9) with bacon, egg, and cheese, drizzled in maple syrup. A tasty mix of sweet and savory.

Everything we tried was delicious and I would not hesitate to order each of them again. This meal for two, consisting of four plates and four drinks, turned out to be only €50, and we were happily full. Dining at Buvette is always a pleasant experience, , but do note that they don’t take reservations and the space fills up rather quickly, so expect a wait if you come during prime meal hours.
