I probably would’ve never discovered Café Saint-Régis if Paris in Four Months didn’t suggest this place for our meet up (so first of all, thank you :). This old school Parisian café isn’t anything out of the ordinary, but it’s a charming and comfortable place to rest tired feet or fill empty stomachs if you happen to be wandering in the Notre Dame area. The cherry on top? Free wi-fi.

Can’t comment on the dishes here since we only stopped by for breakfast (€7), which includes freshly-squeezed orange juice, croissant/tartine, and a hot drink of choice (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate).

A surprisingly satisfying hot chocolate. Thick, not too sweet, perfect with a croissant.

This little guy here couldn’t have made it to the lists of Paris’ meilleurs croissants (lists here and here), but it was decent enough for a casual breakfast.

Café Saint-Régis isn’t a destination by any means, but it certainly is a good option for those who happen to be in the area. We visited on a Monday morning and didn’t find it very touristy, though I can’t speak for other times during the week. This is, after all, a five-minute walk from Notre Dame.

  1. The ‘old school’ look is totally faux. A cafe group is doing up cafes to look ancienne with all the trimming. Still their magic works. People love it and not a bad price for breakies..
