[Tokyo] Roppongi 六本木

Categories tokyo3 Comments

Here’s how I spent the day in one of my favorite neighborhoods of Tokyo:

Morning: got here before any of the stores opened, wandered around discovering street art here and there.

Street art.

Baller apartment where celebrities and moneyed people live.

Le Chocolate de H, saving this for next time.

Lunch: skipped the main meal for some made-to-order desserts at Toshi Yoroizuka instead.

Afternoon: saw a very inspiring exhibition by Issey Miyake at 21_21 Design Sight. It’s an amazing space designed by Ando Tadao, unfortunately wasn’t allowed to take pictures inside.

Late afternoon: (window) shopping at Tokyo Midtown.

Dinner: a dinner at Ryugin, reserved 2 months in advance. Click here for the detailed post.

Evening: more walking around – discovering Roppongi decked out in Christmas decorations.

Last note: for those interested in late night activities, Roppongi is supposed to be great for clubbing and bar hopping as well.

  1. dear cindy,

reading your blogs is always a delightful enjoyment, just as your day at roppongi seems to be =)

the funny thing is tho, just a few days after i read your post on Ryugin, one of my assignments for my food and beverage class got me doing a little research about interesting restaurants around the world, and i came upon “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” by S.Pellegrino (http://www.theworlds50best.com/). Guess what, Ryugin is this year (2010)’s new entry at position 48. I thought that was the coolest thing ever, knowing that I have a better insight at Ryugin after seeing your post ;)

    thanks for this awesome blog!!
    your little fan reader :p
