Located in Shibuya, Rai-an is a newly-opened soba noodle shop with a beautiful modern design: floor-to-ceiling windows, open kitchen, and an atelier to display the making of soba. The soba noodles delicious, and all the other small dishes we tried were surprisingly yum as well.

位于涉谷區的雷庵是今年剛開的面店,從整片的落地窗(白天應該很美)、開放式廚房等裝修設計上就可以看得出這是一家比較新式的摩登面店。令人驚喜的是這裏不僅荞麥面好吃,其他東西也做的可圈可點。

Sea urchin is always a good idea to me, but perhaps the best way to taste the soba noodles is at its simplest – served chill with a dipping sauce (800 yen). This made me miss the little soba shop Kanei in Kyoto.

不過更能凸顯荞麥面本身風味的,應該是最簡單的荞麥冷面(800日幣),如果來這裏吃飯的話不妨點一份試試。吃到這裏,有點想念京都的かね井蕎麥啊。

Desserts are all made from soba as well, such as soba pudding, soba tofu mousse, and soba beignet (600 yen each), quite creative, though not all delicious.

甜點也都是荞麥做的,比如荞麥布丁、荞麥豆腐慕斯、荞麥無花果烤餅(各600日幣),雖然不能說每一款都美味,不過都很有創意。

雷庵是個適合約會或者朋友輕鬆小聚的好去處。價格不貴、地點方便、料理不錯、店也時髦 - 如果正好在附近的話,可以去試試。
