Discreetly tucked away in an easily missed lane, Melange Oasis is an eco-conscious cafe with compressed bamboo interior and solar heating panels. The coffee served here is organic and fair-trade, which is of course a plus, but I’m admittedly more in love with its simple interior embellished with colorful bean bags and ultra-comfy hammocks (yes, hammocks!) A beautiful and relaxing space…this is where troubles really do melt like lemon drops.
I tried a cup of MO Melange (30 RMB), which is long espresso with cream and finished with milk and foam, while my friend had the Cinderella (45 RMB), a mix of freshly squeezed juice of pineapples and two other fruits which I can’t remember (check their boards for seasonal specials).
My favorite, though, is the mango banana milkshake (45 RMB).
Melange Oasis will soon be putting out tables and chairs in the courtyard, as the weather is slowly cooling down to a perfect temperature for outdoor seating This new spot is still relatively quiet, but I imagine that it will soon become a regular hangout for many people…
