This past weekend I discovered a hidden gem in Jiashan Market called Lohasly / Nap Cafe. It’s a store, it’s a cafe, it’s a studio. Take a look at the pictures and you’ll see why I’m in love with this cozy little spot.

First of all, Lohasly / Nap Cafe is a cafe. The menu is simple – there’s coffee, tea, and pies. We tried a pot of soothing Darjeeling (50 RMB), and the prompt refill of hot water kept us going the whole afternoon.

Lohasly / Nap Cafe is also a store for organic food.

Lohasly / Nap Cafe is also a studio for cooking and music workshops. Again, check their website for the workshop schedules. It looks like they have hosted onigiri (Japanese rice balls) cooking class, Japanese tea and tea cake workshop, farmer’s market, etc. Fun stuff.

Lohasly / Nap Cafe is slightly hard to find. Once you are in Jiashan Market, look for #37 B208 – it’s on the second floor of a building on the left, right across from Cafe Sambal. After you climb up the shabby stairs, turn left, walk about ten steps, and you’ll see the door of Lohasly / Nap cafe on your left side. Enjoy!
