Grand Hyatt needs no introduction. There is nothing bedazzling about the hotel in terms of architectural design, but if you are looking for consistent quality and attentive service, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong would be it.

Reception

Our Grand Deluxe Harbour View Room, furnished with a King bed with cozy duvet and feather pillows, also came with killer views of the Victoria Harbour. Business travelers would like the spacious workstation and the selection of magazines in the room – The Economist, Forbes, Newsweek, TIME…etc.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour.

The spacious bathroom, gloriously adorned with golden touches here and there, June Jacobs toiletries, and fresh flowers.

We dropped by the Grand Club lounge, which is at once grand and cozy, perfect for some evening cocktails and canapes.

As it was around Christmas time, the Club Lounge had a festive spread of Christmas tidbits on the table. The selection wasn’t especially extensive, but each dish was thoughtfully put together.

Upon returning to the room, we were pleasantly surprised by a jar of Christmas cookie and a Merry Christmas card. We felt the love :)

We also found this sweet little note by the door.

A note from the Transportation Desk

In the morning, slide open the curtains and in pour the sunshine. What a view to wake up to!

Good morning!

It’s also worth mentioning that the bathrobe at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is one of the most comfortable bathrobes you will find. Snug fit, warm, fluffy! Also available at Plateau Spa on the 11th floor.

Back to the sun-dappled Club Lounge for breakfast.

The breakfast selection: cold cuts, pastries, fresh fruits (rainbow-colored!), and a selection of Chinese dishes (the congee was excellent, exactly what I needed after a series of overeating).

Again, the ubiquitous Victoria Harbour view. Really can’t complain about that.

After breakfast, we took a quick stroll in the courtyard on the 11th floor. On a balmy day, it would be perfect to sit out here in the shades of greens and enjoy a cup of tea, or take a dip in the sleek outdoor pool. Since it was too cold to do either, I headed to Plateau Spa for its signature Plateau Massage. Highly recommended.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong’s location may not be very convenient for those on vacation as the closest subway station (Wanchai) is at least a 10-minute walk, but if you are in Hong Kong for business travel, Grand Hyatt would be an excellent choice.
