Stylish, intimate, relaxed, feels like home! Primero Primera is a family-owned boutique hotel is tucked away in Tres Torres, one of the best residential neighborhoods of Barcelona, and it really does offer all the peace and comfort of a private residence. An ideal choice for anyone look for a chic retreat.

There are 30 rooms/suits at Primero Primera with sizes ranging from 20 to 60 sqm, each designed slightly differently, but all sharing a penchant for comfort and style. The room I stayed in was a 40 sqm Superior Room: plenty of space, light, harmonious colors, and subtle luxury.

The (non-alcoholic) mini bar is complimentary, as is wifi access.

The ultra spacious bathroom. A good soak in the bathtub is a must!

Here is another Superior Room but with a very different design. Love the slanted ceiling attic look.

The rooftop terrace, accessible by all hotel guests. Red wall, green cacti, blue sky.

On the first floor is a common room area with computer, books, free non-alcoholic mini bar, fresh fruits, and a map of Barcelona imprinted on the wall.

My favorite space at Primero Primera is perhaps the living room, a cozy place to read, relax, and chat by the fireplace. An honesty bar system is in place – you can help yourself to any alcoholic drinks, mark down your consumption, and settle up upon checking out.

Chairs and sofas are grouped to small areas to offer a sense of intimacy and privacy. Each piece of furniture is tastefully picked…I just want to bring everything home!

There are also a few neat spots outdoor, which would be more than lovely on warmer days. I especially like this snug nook located behind the hotel restaurant/bar, too bad it was chilly in Barcelona during my visit.

Breakfast, a spread of home-made cakes, croissants, hams, fruit, cereals and yoghurt, is served in the bar area. Again, love the decor – cowhide bar stools, cushion-strewn sofas, framed sepia photographs…

The only potential problem of Primero Primera is that the hotel is not located in the most central location – it takes about 10~15 minutes to get to city center – so if you are expecting to step out and be right in the crowd, look elsewhere. As for me, I really didn’t mind the short distance away from the hustle and bustle, and if you also appreciate this sense of peace and tranquility, give Primero Primera a try.
