Chef Quim Márquez Durán has been in the Boqueria Market for some 20 years and naturally knows where to get the finest ingredients. His 18-stool restaurant, located in the heart of the market, serves incredibly fresh and tasty plates for breakfast, tapas, and lunch. Grab a stool, and get eating.

Padrón green peppers (€6.50).

Razor clams (€15).

Prawns in garlic with Cava reduction (€19).

Fried eggs with baby squid (€19) – now this is a must order. The eggs are fried with plenty of olive oil, topped with squids sauteed in garlic and chilly pepper, and simply finished with salt and black pepper. Too good to miss.

Quim style bull’s tail (€18). The meat literally falls off the bone, it’s that tender.

Not without a glass of white.

A simple, quick, yet memorably delicious meal – literally everything I tried was worth a second order. The bill came out to be about €40 per person, which is quite pricey compared to other stalls in Boqueria Market, but justified by the quality of food. Quim himself told me that he will soon open a branch in Hong Kong, so folks in that area, keep an eye out for this!
