Very close to the perennially packed Hof on Sinan Lu, Antique Garden is a two-story cafe that doesn’t only sell coffee and cakes, but also antique furniture (real or fake, I really can’t tell you). The interior is dimly lit and decorated with random vintage pieces here and there. Though the teas and cakes are not extraordinary, Antique Garden is still an alright spot for tea dates and gatherings.

Carefully slip, please.

We ordered a few pots of tea, both Western and Eastern, to share among the group.

Japanese green tea with brown rice & matcha (38 RMB).

Antique Garden original tea (45 RMB), rose-flavored, sweet and sour.

We also tried two cakes – the chocolate mousse and mont blanc – not all that bad, but it’s not Chez Shibata here.

There were plenty of people with laptops, and the customers were a mix of foreigners and locals. Just another addition to your list of afternoon tea spots.
